Toy story 3 is the third film of the Toy story series. The film is produced by Pixar Animation studios and released worldwide by Walt Disney Pictures. Lee Unkrich has directed the film. The plot of Toy Story 3 has been discussed here.
Seventeen years old Andy has now outgrown his toys and is preparing to move to college. However, Woody is still Andy’s favorite toy and Andy decides to take Woody with him and packs the other toys in a garbage bag to keep them in the attic. Andy’s mom mistakenly puts the bag on the curb where they are almost picked by garbage truck driven by Sid. The toys think Andy no longer wants them and so they sneak into a box to be donated to Sunnyside Daycare center. Woody tries to clear the misunderstanding but the toys refuse to believe him.
At Sunnyside, the toys are cordially welcomed from the old toys there, especially from Lots-O-huggin bear or Lotso. The other toys at Sunnyside include a Ken doll and a baby doll toy called Big Baby. Lotso assigns the toys the “caterpillar room” .Meanwhile, Woody tries to convince the toys to return to Andy, but the toys decide they are happier at the daycare center. Therefore, Woody leaves without them to meet Andy.
At the Sunnyside daycare center the other toys discover that they are in the hands of young and unruly toddlers who play roughly with the innocent toys. Buzz goes to ask Lotso to get transferred to the “butterfly room”, but is instead caught by other Sunnyside toys and fails in his mission. Buzz is reset to his original space ranger self by the Lotso gang and he forgets his friends. Buzz now works for Lotso.
Meanwhile, Woody is picked up by a girl named Bonnie as he escapes Sunnyside. Bonnie takes Woody home where he meets with other toys of Bonnie. The other toys at Bonnie’s home are Pricklepants, Trixie, Buttercup, Totoro, Peas-in-a-pod and Chuckles the clown. Chuckles informs Woody that Sunnyside is a toy prison run by Lotso, who snapped after his owner lost and replaced him with another Lotso. Lotso had run away from home and taken over Sunnyside with Big baby as his chief accomplice. Lotso forces other toys to stay in the caterpillar room so that he and his accomplices never have to deal with the unruly children of the caterpillar room.
At the same time, Mrs Potato head sees through her missing eye (that was lost in Andy’s room) that Andy still wants them and is looking for them. Realizing that they have misjudged Andy, the toys try to escape Sunnyside, but are imprisoned by Lotso and his accomplices, including the reset Buzz.
Woody returns to Sunnyside to rescue his friends. The toys use a garbage chute to escape but Lotso and his henchmen catch them escaping. Woody becomes able to convince the other toys of Lorso’s treachery, so big baby throws Lotso in a dumpster. Lotso, in his vengeance pull all the toys to the garbage bin to be picked up by a garbage truck, In this confusion, Buzz returns to his normal self. The garbage truck takes them to be a conveyor belt where they are put in front of a shredder and an incinerator. Although Woody and Buzz rescues Lotso from the shredder, Lotso tries to kill the toys by not pressing the emergency stop button to the incinerator. The toys become ready to die, but at the last moment a giant claw crane operated by squeeze toy aliens saves them. Lotso is picked up by a garbage man.
The toys return to Andy’s room. Woody scribbles a note on the ‘attic box’, telling Andy to donate the toys to Bonnie. Andy plays for a last time with the toys and donate them to Bonnie. The toys are happy with Bonnie.
